In the 70s, all Silat Malaysia teaching and
groups were advised to register under the Act of Society 1966 so that their
society is be legally active. Thus, some of the Silat group and teaching from
Silat Melayu (Malay’s Silat) stream or also known as local Silat, Seni Silat
Melayu Tradisi Semenanjung (Peninsular Traditional Art of Malay’s Silat), were
registered with the variety names, such as Seni Gayung Fatani, Silat Jawi,
Silat Bunga, Silat Melayu Asli, Silat
Melayu Patani, and etc.
However, the master of the Silat Melayu stream still
passed down the silat syllabus by using the same music instruments but by using
traditional silat inside shed education techniques.
