The writing about "silat malaysia" is actually not precisely found.

Though, the term "silat" is only existed around 16th century because during that time, silat is only known as a fighting art, a warrior skill, or even as a brave-man-skill, which means, refers to the Malay's art of war.

Even the issue of silat malaysia is widely debated regarding the history but the government of Malaysia already recognized the martial arts as the official self defense in the country. Thus, the techniques performed is the original form of martial arts that only found in Malaysia.

As the founder of Silat Malaysia, the late Grandmaster Anuar Abdul Wahab has been recognised as the country warrior medal by the Malaysian government for his effort in founding the curicullum of Silat Malaysia.
